about the triumph car club act inc
On behalf of the President and members of the Triumph Car Club of the ACT Inc., I would like to thank you for your enquiry about our Club and I trust that the following information will meet your requirements and should you decide to join us, you will enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of friendliness of our small group of Triumph enthusiasts.
We hold our monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month (except December when we don't hold a meeting), in the upstairs 'Canberra Room' of the Deakin Sports and Social Club in Grose Street Deakin (behind the Shell service station, just down from the Deakin shops), at 7.30pm. These meetings are informal and apart from the normal Club administration aspects, allow time for discussion on any matters relating to the maintenance or restoration of a vehicle. At times, all the little bits of information about our cars that crop up from time to time, seem to come in handy when problems occur. Please feel free to raise any matter you like.
We have monthly outings or runs, where you are most welcome to join us to enjoy the driving and the company. The Club has a BBQ trailer which usually comes along to provide a little sustenance for the members.
The Club also has a few pieces of equipment that are available for loan to members (for example a car trailer and some specialized tools). A small contribution for the upkeep of the equipment is welcomed.
Your yearly fees provide you with a copy of our monthly magazine, 'Triumph Torque' and after joining you will receive your membership card, a name tag and a windscreen sticker. Many auto businesses around Canberra offer discounts to members upon production of our Club card. The details are shown in the magazine.
Membership of the Club also entitles you to access the ACT Concessional Registration Scheme (CRS) which permits heritage vehicle enthusiasts to register their vehicles for a small annual fee and use them on approved runs and other limited occasions. This system is a valued attraction of Club membership and its use is closely monitored by the Club movement.
The Club is an association registered under the provisions of the Associations Incorporation Act of the ACT and a copy of the Club Constitution and By-Laws are available for download from the membership page for your information. These documents are also available at our meetings.
An application form is also available for download on the membership page which can be completed and sent to the specified address along with the joining fee of $10 and a pro-rata annual membership fee of $2.50 per month up to and including next June.
