  Questions and answers

The following is a list of questions I've been asked and sometimes answers to go with them. If you have a question or feel you can answer one of the existing questions, drop me a line.
Q: What is scuttle shake, what causes it and how can it be remedied?
Q: Does anyone know the difference between 16P and 16PB front brake calipers? Are they interchangeable? Which is the best choice for performance?
Q: Does anyone know if the SU manifold from the Triumph sedan will fit the GT6 (underbonnet clearance)? If not, does anyone know where an SU manifold can be found for the GT6?
A: The SU manifold can't be used because the engine is canted at an angle in the saloon and therefore the carbs won't be level if you bolt this into a GT6. Clearance will probably be a problem too. You can buy adaptor plates from Triumphtune (Moss) and retain the standard manifold (though clearance is still tight).
Q: Does anyone know if an automatic GT6 was ever produced, or of a suitable box for a conversion?
Q: What is involved in swapping a Spitfire tub on to a GT6 chassis?
Q: For someone who is building a Spit 6 - the GT6 with rotoflex rear does not have hand brake guides on the chassis like a Spit does. The GT6 had them welded to the floor of the body. Since they are using a Spit body it does not have them. Anyone know of an easy solution?

Note: The above questions were combined, as John Sisler provided this comprehensive answer provided below. Many thanks John!
